Congresswoman Luria Recaps Her First Term Serving Coastal Virginians in Congress

Today, Congresswoman Elaine Luria marked the conclusion of her first term in Congress, maintaining an unparalleled commitment to quality constituent services and significant legislative accomplishments.

To recap her achievements during the 116th Congress, Congresswoman Luria released a digital booklet that you can find here. This booklet tells the story of the Congresswoman's successes by describing her philosophy, several bills she introduced, legislation she supported, and how she and her team have delivered for Coastal Virginians.

"Since taking office, it has been my number one priority to be an effective advocate for Coastal Virginia," said Congresswoman Elaine Luria. "Whether my team and I are crafting legislation to repeal tax hikes on Gold Star Families or helping constituents navigate through the red tape of government agencies, we wake up determined and eager to provide solutions. Over the Congresswoman's first term, she has introduced 20 bills, had ten pieces of legislation signed into law, and cosponsored over 500 bills. Her office has recovered over $4 million owed to Coastal Virginians from federal agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration.

Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia's 2nd Congressional District. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee, where she is the Vice Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, where she serves as Chair of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee.
